CLASSY SASSY

Matching Plaids and Official Fall Weather

October 8, 2013

Hello, lovelies!
Let me just say that yesterday was gorgeous.  The sun was shining, the air was crisp and cool, and the temperature did not reach above 63 degrees (17.2 degrees for those of you who use Celsius).  Yesterday and today, I was able to wear a sweater or pullover with my outfit, and I couldn’t be happier than a hobo with a sandwich! 😀

You probably recognize this plaid shirt and sweater combo from a couple of weeks ago, and I am unashamedly sporting it again, today!  I fell completely in love with this plaid shirt when I saw it online at American Eagle (sadly it is now sold out), and it is the FIRST plaid shirt I have ever owned!  Needless to say, this shirt sealed my fate as a plaid fanatic (and no, it’s NOT because it’s a hot trend this year).  The mix of colors and stripes is what appeals to me about plaid, and I love how versatile a plaid shirt can be! Seriously, I  have worn plaid the most when I have put together my outfits for school and church, worn with skirts, cardigans, blazers, pants, etc.

Shirt:  American Eagle (similar) // Pullover:  J.Crew Factory (save) // Skirt:  J.Crew Factory | Shoes:  Forever 21 // Necklace:  Etsy // Belt:  Forever 21 (similar)

I am going to go ahead and gush about these SHOES!!!!!!  You will never guess where they are from….ok, you probably already clicked on the link and some of you may have even added them to your bag!  Seriously, if I can brag on a budget-friendly shoe for the season, these are it!  Only $17 from Forever 21 (you read that right), they are very sturdy and comfortable!  Slightly narrow, but I have somewhat normal size feet so they did bother me while I wore them.  And uh, how amazing is it that they match my plaid SHIRT?!?!?!  MAJOR kudos go to these shoes.  Seriously, they add the perfect amount of pattern and color, and you can bet I will be using them to dress up just a plain ol’ pair of jeans and a t-shirt.  Or rock them out with a sheath dress and blazer.  They add just the right amount of whimsy, but the pointy toe silhouette keeps the shoe more sophisticated and dressy.

Well lovelies, I hope you will have a wonderful week, and hopefully you are having amazing fall weather where you live!  I am going to go outside now, it’s too beautiful to be plunking away at a computer!

What is your favorite shirt to layer with?

First those flats rock! Second love your statement happier than a hobo with a sandwich – totally stealing this for the future! Found you via Style Sessions link up and love your style and this outfit! If I were a little shorter I would totally own every color of that skirt! I have seen it all over the web, but sadly I am a bit tall to pull off the mini.

I love the skirt- I absolutely love when skirts have that elastic that makes the little ruffle at the top; I also love when some pencil skirts allow for that ruffle to occur with the simple tie of a belt.

And those shoes!!! I adore them!
