Camel, Pink, Anchors, and LuckyFabb

September 19, 2013

Hello, lovelies!
I am so sorry for my random absences from the blog the past couple of weeks, I have had so much going on (and so many exciting things).
Today I have got some amazing and exciting news to share with you all….A few weeks ago, I filled out an application to attend a prestigious blogging conference called LuckyFABB, put on by Lucky Magazine, in New York City.  For those of you not familiar with LuckyFabb, it is a fashion and beauty blogger conference (the FABB) that takes place once a year on the east coast in New York City.  It brings together the top brands and bloggers from across the US to network, listen to speakers (Eva Mendes is one of them!!), and attend breakout sessions featuring different topics such as ‘HTML for Fashion and Beauty Bloggers”, “How to Pitch Your Skills to a Magazine”, and many others.  It’s a really amazing experience, to gather in one of the fashion capitals of the world, and meet with other bloggers and learn from the best of the best

Being a new blogger, I kind of doubted that I would be accepted to attend because of being new, and not thinking I had enough followers.  Well, long story short, my application was accepted!!
WHAT??!?!!?
I KNOW, it is SUCH a huge deal, and I was literally on Cloud 9 the entire day!  And then reality set in:  how the heck was I going to pay for the conference ticket, let alone transportation to get to New York City???  So, the past couple weeks, I have written emails to several marketing directors of companies to see if they would be willing to sponsor me to attend in exchange for blog features and a little bit of advertising while at the conference.  This is where the too young/too small thing came in to play, which is what I expected to happen, so it looked like I would not be attending afterall.  Yes, I was sad, but it was enough that I was at least accepted to attend.

And then two people, who are very near and dear to me, who have always loved and supported me in my endeavors, who were so impressed with my blog and all that I have accomplished, heard about the conference and offered to pay for the ticket and transportation to NYC!!!
Now, as amazing as this offer was, I did not feel like I could accept such a generous offer from them.  It was too great of a blessing, such a huge undeserved gift that I didn’t know how to react.
I cried.  I cried because I was so so thankful, so incredibly blessed and amazed at the gift that these two people wanted to shower me with.  They told me that they were so proud of me, and all that I had accomplished, and that they knew this would be an amazing opportunity for me.  Even now while typing this, I am trying not to cry again because it’s not that fact that I’m so happy to be going to New York City and attending this huge conference and that it has been my lifelong dream, it’s the fact that two people could love me so much and wish for me the best experiences possible, to give me such a huge blessing.  Such an undeserved blessing.

So my lovelies, this is a very exciting opportunity for me, and I would love to tell you more about it tomorrow!  Five weeks from today, I will be sitting in a large room with a couple hundred influential bloggers and brands, learning from the best.  It is not an experience I will take lightly, but I know I will have a BLAST!
Enjoy your day, and I look forward to tomorrow!
