Hello, lovelies!

Today is Day #23 in my closet remix challenge, and I decided to get down to business with my challenge, and REALLY remix my closet. I need to start pulling out pieces that I have not worn in months (or ever!), and bring them into my outfit rotation. This blush pink chiffon shirt is something I have hanging in my closet since the beginning of fall, last year. I ordered it off a wholesale website, 1) because the prices are SO cheap, and 2) because who doesn’t need a pink chiffon blouse in their closet??
When I received it, I was surprised that the quality was better than I expected. I might replace the buttons with some gold colored ones to make it look nicer, but for $6 (yes, you read that right), I got a pretty good deal! Now, everything is made and shipped from China, and a couple of the pieces I purchased were a little spotty in quality, but it’s a hit or miss type of store.
Buuut, in the months that are not summer, I am, to put it lightly (get it?), rather fair-skinned. And a blush-pink blouse that is almost skin-colored paired with light skin is not very flattering. So it sat in my closet, pulled out every so often only to be put back again.
Long story short, my skin tone darkened enough for me to finally pull this baby out. The Midwest has been having some humid, summer-like weather the past few days, and dressing up sort of falls by the wayside as comfort and functionality take precedence. What’s a fashionista to do? Why, pull out her lightweight fabrics of course…And what better lightweight fabric than chiffon! Cotton is usually more breathable than a synthetic material, but I wanted a balance between comfort and niceness.

I kept my look feminine, and rather soft compared to my more colorful ensembles. I paired my pink blouse with a classic pair of navy chino shorts and pearls, but I added elements of interest through my leopard belt and glitter clutch and sandals. What can I say, I love adding unexpected details to my outfits!

I think this is a great outfit! I am personally not a neon fan but I think it would be fun to do a red statement necklace with that blouse (or mint/teal).
