Happy Monday, lovelies!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and are not too disappointed that the weekend is over.
I had a wonderful weekend, filled with sunshine and much needed girl time!
Saturday I went out shopping with a friend of mine to help her pick out patio furniture and ferns for her new town house (aka “big girl” shopping)….Buuut, we got everything but the ferns and furniture. I guess that happens as women, we hardly EVER stick to our shopping list! 
I think it would be better for my wallet if I shopped like a man. You know how they shop:
They study their target, following closely it’s patterns (aka sale price) and location, sizing up the quality.
They set out with their guns, er, I mean, wallets, armed with just enough to, um, “capture” their prey.
They walk in, ignoring the other “less important” prey, and when they get close, they pounce, er, purchase, and stalk back to their caves to indulge in their catch.
And here’s how a shopping day goes for a woman:
Walks into the garden store, browses the umbrellas for awhile, walks through to the back (but not before walking through three other aisles) and admires the chaises, OOOh, they have wine racks here! Walks over and picks one up, discovers a wine carafe and decides that she “needs” that too. Leaves the store and begins driving towards the DSW (because she has a coupon), and suddenly realizes that she needs a pair of flats, which reminds her that she has been lusting after that leopard skinny belt at Target so she pays for the shoes and begins driving towards Target, but then stops at Michael’s because they have cupcake carriers, but then remembers that Bed Bath & Beyond has much nicer ones, so she leaves the store and starts driving towards BB&B. Enters the store, looks through the entire baking section before noticing that the martini glass sets are on sale, picks up a set, completely forgets about the cupcake carrier, and suddenly remembers why she was on this side of the strip mall and heads over to Target to find that skinny belt. Walks in and browses all of the handbag and jewelry racks before remembering why she was there in the first place, but instead of finding the skinny belt, she leaves with a royal blue belt (which she really “needed” anyways) and a pair of glitter sandals which she remembers was also on her wishlist needlist.

No ferns, no patio furniture.
What men would call a failed hunt, we women would call a success. No wonder men hate shopping with us!

My arm swag for the day. Completely obsessed with this Charlotte Russe bangle, and a steal for $6! What’s not to “love” about the price??

This outfit is my go-to outfit for mixed weather, when I don’t know what the temperature is going to be like. It was a little on the chilly side yesterday, but it was supposed to warm up a little, so I decided that layers would be best for church. If I got warm, I could just take off my blazer, chambray shirt, or both, and still look put together. By the way, the hubby surprised me with this blazer after looking at my Pinterest board…Does he have good taste or what???
This outfit was a definite Pinspiration (you can see the original idea here). If you check out My Style board, you’d quickly see just how much I am in love with navy stripes and coral combinations! It’s such a classic, fun, preppy look, and this dress (and blazer, and the chambray too!) can easily be paired with many other combinations. Basically each piece in this outfit is extremely versatile, and on my Spring/Summer must-have list!
The dress is a lightweight material with three-quarter length sleeves that could be rolled up with a button tab, great for cool or warmer weather. What really drew me to this dress was the shape of it being a shift dress rather than a bodycon dress. Plus who could resist the navy stripes! The chambray shirt adds a little texture in between the dress and blazer, and the polka dots are a fun way to pattern mix. The coral blazer is a fun pop of color and the striped liner is uber chic!
