Five Fall Outfits to Re-Create Now

Hi friends!

This post has been a long time coming, not because it’s a particularly long or work-intensive post, but because this week has been a bit cray-cray for us! We’ve either had family and friends in-town or have been out of town almost every weekend, the last few weeks, and we’ve been playing catch-up with laundry and housework ever since.

And on top of that, I went on an overnight retreat last Friday (first time away from Lilly overnight!), I’ve been getting ready for a Stella & Dot virtual trunk show tonight (SURPRISE, you’re all invited!!), AND I’m getting ready for a fun shopping event I’m hosting with my girl, Preeti at Peebles, this Saturday from 4-6pm in Paintsville, KY! I’ll be doing a couple of live demos on Facebook about some of my favorite fall beauty and fashion trends, so be sure to tune in that evening–I’ll let you all know the exact time, once I get there.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been pinning fall outfit inspiration like a mad woman! Who doesn’t love looking at blanket scarves, bean boots, chunky sweaters, and getting lost down the rabbit hole of coziness! While I love looking at what’s trending for fall, there are quite a few outfits that are tried and true fall favorites of mine, and I am going to say #sorrynotsorry for following similar formulas this season.

So this past week, I went back through my blog and Instagram and pulled out some of my all-time favorite fall outfits to share with you all for inspiration! I purchased this houndstooth dress a few years ago, from the Crewcuts section at J.Crew (one of the perks of being petite!). Pairing houndstooth with plaid is a pretty classy combination, and one of my fall favorites! To recreate this look, you could either check out the dresses I’ve linked above, or pair a plaid button down and navy pullover with this cute ruffled wool skirt!

Probably one of my most-worn go-to outfits, and variations thereof, is the vest+pullover+button down look. Easy peasy, comfy, and layering makes it easy to keep warm (and cool) with the fluctuating fall temperatures.

Poncho | Turtleneck | Flats

You all know I’m obsessed with ponchos–I’ve said before, it’s like wearing a blanket in public (GREAT outfit for airplane travel!). I have zero regrets for purchasing this cashmere poncho, because it’s well-made, and super comfy! And one-size fits preggo and non-preggo.

Similar sweater here & here | Over-the-knee boots (under $50!) | Leggings

One of my other favorite and often-copied outfits is the tunic sweater + leggings + boots outfits. Ankle boots, riding boots, rain boots, over-the-knee boots, whatever you choose to wear, it’s a classic outfit combo that can be reworked in many different ways. The over-the-knee boot trend isn’t going anywhere, thankfully, and even if it were, it’s a trend that I will still wear. These boots were one of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases from last year, but I found the exact same boots for under $50!! And burgundy/merlot/wine/oxblood/whateveryouwanttocallit will never go out of style.

Vest, sweater, ankle boots? Check. All of the staples in one outfit, and when you’ve stocked your closet with the staples, you have endless outfit possibilities!
