Floral Print Denim as a Wardrobe Staple

Happy weekend, lovelies!
I apologize for the lateness of this post, but my lovely iPad decided it wanted to delete all of my links three times in a row so I had to keep putting them back in (you have to write them in HTML, btw!) so finally I got smart about it and just copied it every time I added a new link.  I am not trying to make you all feel sorry for me nor am I trying to complain, I wanted to share because I am sure that some or most of you can relate to technology having a mind of its own 😀
SO, today is Friday, and I couldn’t be happier that it’s the weekend!  One thing I can’t believe, though, is that today is the 2nd day of August??? Where in the world did summer go?!??!  With very few hot and humid days, I feel like the South and the Midwest never really had a true summer.  I can’t complain, I’ve rather liked not sweating every day, the moment I step foot outside my apartment.  There is nothing more unattractive than running errands in sweat-soaked clothes and your frizzies plastered against your forehead….ew.
Today I am going to show you how to wear floral jeans. This is a trend that I was slow to adopt, because I didn’t think that floral jeans could be a wardrobe staple (and I have been all about stocking my wardrobe with staples this year), because there couldnt possibly be many things that would go with   floral print jeans.
I am more than happy to admit my theory was wrong.
I was completely ignoring the simplest of outfits that is so easy and chic:  jeans, tshirt, and a pair of heels. Easy, fuss-free, comfortable, and yet trendy at the same time, the jeans and a tshirt combination is a pretty popular outfit.
“Oh wait,” I thought, “floral denim are jeans” (duh). I mentally face-palmed myself. Why not pair it with a tshirt???
 And that, my friends, is when I had an epiphany:  I don’t need to pair them with some brightly colored top, patterned scarf, and leopard flats for it to be the only way to wear them…oh wait…
Much learned have I, young padawan!

 

 

Its a pretty easy formula,really, all you need is a tshirt in any color (match it to the dominant color in your floral print denim), your favorite pair of heels, and a fun purse or clutch to finish the look.  Try to match the purse and shoes together and use them as accent colors, maybe also choosing from one of the lesser colors in your denim, or choose a complimentary color of your tshirt. Remember, we are going for laidback and chic. You can always experiment later when you get more comfortable with the print. 🙂

Because my jeans are only two colors, I have a little more freedom with the colors I can pair with them.   I went with a simple necklace because I wanted the main focus to be the beautiful patterned pants and how lovely the neon yellow accents pair with them!  I am still using the denim + tshirt + heels formula, but the floral print jazzes it up just a little bit.

Simple, chic, and fuss-free, I am completely in love with this outfit!  My floral jeans have now become a wardrobe staple, and this outfit, or a version of it, will certainly be making weekly appearances!  (Maybe I should make it a weekly special?). I hope you ladies feel encouraged to try out the floral denim trend, if you haven’t already!  And if you have, I hope I was able to give a little inspiration.

    I loved this outfit the minute I saw it on IG. 🙂 You look perfect. The yellow pops are great with the blues. I also liked how you mentioned not always worrying about having numerous layers/textures/things to create a nice outfit. I don't know why we always complicate things but I am so guilty of this as well! Sometimes simple is best. Have a great weekend!
