CLASSY SASSY

striped shirt seersucker vestwinter

I’ve Got the {Seersucker}Blues

March 6, 2015

 The  Deets:
vest:  Pink Pineapple Shop | sweater:  Forever 21 | shirt:  J.Crew, similar
denim:  Old Navy, similar | handbag:  Kate Spade, similar | boots:  Hunter, love these
necklace:  Charming Charlie (sold out), similar here, love the bracelet
bracelet:  Kiel James Patrick | lipstick:  Estee Lauder in Pink Parfait

If I look cold in these pictures, it’s because I am.  In my excitement to take pictures outside in the fresh snow, I did not pay attention to the temperature until we were situated in the road and my husband began snapping pictures.  And it was WINDY.  My eyes were actually tearing up, and looking at that last picture, I definitely had the Squints. 😀  It’s funny what one will endure for the sake of fashion, and yes you may call me cray (my husband certainly did)!

I initially wore the sweater-shirt-vest combination a week ago with a pair of red denim, but in getting dressed yesterday, I wasn’t crazy about the Tiffany Blue Hunters paired with red.  So instead, I went with an all-blue nautical look, and oh my goodness, I’m in LOVE!!  Blue, in any shade, has always been my favorite color since I was a little girl, and for some reason, I had never thought of pairing together different shades of it until now.  The key to pulling off a head-to-toe look in the same color family is to mix different shades together, and use contrasting patterns or textures.  Stripes with polka dots, cable knit with seersucker, etc.  The patterns are in the same color family (remember my resolution to simplify?), and put together, they flow.  Basic pieces by themselves, but when put together, they really play off of each other!

Aaand let’s talk about this seersucker vest….I mentioned in my post on Monday how I had added to my vest collection for spring, and this was the FIRST one that I purchased!  Seersucker is one of my favorite spring and summer fabrics, and when I saw this fabric in vest form, I couldn’t say no.  Actually, I couldn’t say no to any spring vest, but I digress. 😀  There may be snow on the ground, but I feel completely spring-ready in this seersucker-ed pretty!  I will forewarn you, I may or may not be wearing a vest in the near future….again….My students have pointed out to me how much I love vest because it seems like I wear one every other day…and in different colors…#imobsessed

Well friends, I hope you will have a wonderful weekend, and if you happen to find a vest in another shade of seersucker, drop me a line! 😀

Stay Classy!

I love your vest! And your whole outfit! The link to the vest is wrong, but I found it! 🙂
