MEET LULU, THE TUTU MUG

Her name is LuLu. She is adorable. She has stripes and a bowtie. She has a freakin’ tutu!! Seriously, did I need any other reason than that to buy her?? Heck no. (And notice my use of “she” and “her”). I waited all of five days to purchase it, once it hit stores. Five tortuous days of drooling over my Instagram feed, seeing all my friends happy with their mugs. I must clarify, this was not an #igmademedoit purchase (although it did make me more impatient to buy it). I just couldn’t (at the time) justify paying $20 for a coffee mug. And then a sweet lady at church gave me a $5 giftcard to Starbucks as a thank-you for something, and well, that was the first place the hubs and I went after church.

Ladies, let me say that it is DEFINITELY worth $20! It is probably the most sturdy travel mug I have ever owned. The body is made of thick ceramic, as well as the lid, and the tutu skirt is removable so the cup can easily be hand washed. In other words, she is perfect.

Right after purchasing the mug, I immediately began thinking of two things: 1) What to name her, and 2) What outfit I was going to put together to present her to society

Pathetic, I know. Well, the second came about more easily than the first, and I must say, I am OBSESSED with this outfit, almost as much as I am obsessed with LuLu. The gold glitter bow belt is from Target, of all places (I really should stop being so surprised that they have such cute stuff), and I am IN LOVE, and it pairs perfectly with my gold baroque tights! I first saw the bow belt in Meghan’s Friday Finds Under $40 post on Everyday Fashion and Finance, and I knew it would be the perfect piece to complete my holiday outfits. Naturally, it was sold out online and my size was nowhere to be found in stores. Thanks to a sweet Instagram friend, who snagged a size up for me, all of my holiday outfit plannings will come true (Thank you, January!!!). If you are thinking about purchasing this belt, I recommend sizing up a size if you wish to wear it with pants, and some ladies have said that to fit it over skirts around their waists comfortably, they also went up a size.I am way more excited than I should be to plan more outfits around this glitter bow belt; it literally adds just the right amount of sparkle to an outfit! The belt is definitely a great find, I'm surprise at how much great stuff that Target has to offer also. Haha you are too funny and crazy about the mug…totally understand!
