My New Favorite Outfit

July 15, 2013

Today, I am swapping blogs with Ginny from My New Favorite Outfit!  She is a fabulous blogger, mother, and teacher, who somehow seems to juggle it all in fantastic style!  Be sure to hop on over to her blog to see some of my favorite outfits and answer a few questions. 🙂

Hi, Everyone! I’m Ginny and I blog over at My New Favorite Outfit, a blog focused on fun, affordable fashion.  I’m excited to be swapping blogs with the lovely Whitley today!  While Whitley has been on a shopping ban I’ve loved seeing her re-mix her closet.  I thought it would be fun to take one of my favorite dresses and re-mix it for you all today.  I found this striped dress at Loft for a steal and am loving it’s versatility.  Today I’ll show you this dress as a dress (duh!), a shirt, and a skirt.

First up, here it is as a dress.  I love that it’s black and white, because it will go with everything!  I styled it with a bright cardigan, fun Stella and Dot necklace, bright belt and, just for fun, my leopard shoes.

Outfit details: Dress, Loft/Jewelry, Stella and Dot/Belt, Kohls/Shoes, Fergalicious

Next, I styled it as a skirt.  I’ve been looking for a great striped skirt, but honestly didn’t think about wearing this as a skirt before.  I’ve done it with other dresses and loved it, so I thought I’d try it out.  When wearing a dress as a skirt you really do have to think about the neckline and print of dress.  I ended up choosing a basic black tee with a similar neckline and added my jean jacket.  To keep the shirt in place it’s easiest to wear a belt, and that works perfectly.

 Outfit Details: Dress, Loft/Jacket, The Limited/Top Target/Jewelry, Stella and Dot/Belt, Plato’s Closet/Shoes, JCrew
Lastly, I decided to try this dress as a shirt.  The dress has an elastic waist, so I tucked the bottom of the dress into that, since the length was different and that worked pretty well.  I thought I’d wear some bright colors, so I chose this bright blazer and skirt and my nude heels.
Outfit Details: Dress, Loft/Blazer, Kohl’s/Skirt, Target/Jewelry, Stella and Dot/Shoes: Fergalicious

Thanks, Whitley for having me today! Lovely readers, I’d love to have you stop by My New Favorite Outfit and say “hi!”
