Happy Monday, lovelies!

This weekend was quite wonderful, and I am oh so sad to say goodbye! I attended my first art fair, got the laundry done, organized my closet, AND had some time to relax…Yup, I’d say it was a perfect weekend.

I absolutely adore this Emily Dickinson quote, and the fact that it is inscribed on a delicate necklace makes it even more special. I’ve had to keep a lot of hope in my heart this summer with trying to figure out what I am supposed to do with my life. I guess I’m having one of those “midlife” crisis’…just kidding.

But seriously, though, think about this quote (warning: about to get all philosophical)….Hope isn’t always a commanding presence in our lives…It’s light, almost undetectable, something that can easily “fly away” at a moment’s notice. But sometimes when we seem to be at our wit’s end, while all doors appear to be closed, a little glimmer of hope appears, faint, whispering to our hearts that there is still something to have hope about. Sometimes we don’t even know what we have to hope about, but we do anyways, we hope.

WHEW, that was heavy! Sorry for getting all serious on you, but this quote really gave me some food for thought with all that has happened this summer! I had been looking for the perfect delicate necklace, the one that isn’t attention grabbing like a statement necklace (which I STILL am obsessed with), something that compliments an outfit just so without overwhelming it. What more perfect necklace could there be for me than a quote by one of my favorite authors!

With fall right around the corner, I am itching to start playing with layers again! I’d have to say my most favorite layering piece is definitely my polka dot chambray shirt. It adds a subtle pop of interest to an outfit, a piece that binds all the parts together. Yup, fall on the brain. I can’t help it! Just take a look at my Pinterest feed, and you will see just how many of my pins involve layering and fall fashion! I’m pining away, alright???

Well lovelies, I am off to go daydream about fall outfits…specifically how I’m going to work in my summer pieces…
