The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here, you all!!  I’ve rounded up my top favorites from the sale (yes, the WHOLE sale), but will definitely break it down into different categories!  There are lots of great pieces this year, from chunky knit sweaters, cashmere cardigans and wraps…And don’t even get me started on the Tory Burch pieces that are on sale!!

Last night, Lilly and I headed to our local Nordstrom to beat the crowds and get a sneak peek at all the goodies, before meeting my husband and some friends for dinner.  Unfortunately, we only had time to make it through the handbags and shoes sections, but I saw so many awesome pieces and colors!

I was very happy to see that burgundy is, once again, a popular color for fall, as well as blush, grey, and cognac.  I didn’t see as many olive hues as I would have liked, but I’m hoping there will be some options when I have my dressing room appointment tonight (7:30pm EST, I’ll be sharing everything on Instastories!)

OK, so let’s talk about my top favorites from the Early Access part of the sale…

I’m in the process of doing a MAJOR detox of my closet and trying to be more wise when it comes to my purchases, so this year I am focusing on things that are higher quality, timeless, and will last me a few seasons of wear.

And since having a baby, I need to focus on pieces that are functional, so I will probably pass on these pretty strappy sandals  (they come in rose gold!!).

Sweaters, Wraps, & Ponchos

I am pretty much set in the sweater section of my wardrobe, but what I am considering to purchase are a couple of long, soft cardigans.  Also, I blame my mother-in-law for getting me hooked on cashmere, so this cashmere wrap is definitely going in my shopping bag–the only problem is, I can’t decide on which color!  Both the pink and the cranberry are super pretty in person, but I have a feeling the “smart” choice would be to stick with a neutral, like grey, cream, or navy.

I purchased last year’s version of this poncho, and it was worth the splurge!  It’s super soft,  lightweight, and goes with everything…even a baby bump! 😀

Bottoms:

One of the major things the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is known for is the premium denim that is available–Paige, AG, etc, all quality brands that will LAST.  My favorite is a pair of PAIGE’s that I got a few years ago, but unfortunately they don’t fit anymore, so I might consider replacing them with this pair.  I’m a sucker for a classic dark wash!

A great budget-friendly option would be this pair from Articles of Society!  I have the white denim from this brand, and they have held up pretty well with heavy use.  And at less than $40 a pair?  It wouldn’t be a bad idea to get two or three.

Shirts & Blouses:

Another section of my closet I really need to pair down (do I really need twentytie-back tunic ten different plaid shirts??), I am thinking of adding just a couple of classic pieces like this blush pink tie-bow blouse and this that would work well with both denim and leggings.

Also, this Lush tab blouse layers well with cardigans and jackets, so I might add one more color to my closet!

Shoes

I was able to purchase a few great pairs of footwear during last year’s NSALE, so this year I am looking to replace some of my well-loved shoes.  Which brings me to probably the biggest purchase I will be making at this sale–the Tory Burch Adeline Riding boots.

I can hear you swooning from here!

My beloved pair of Ariat riding boots have been so faithful to me, these last few years, but the leather is looking very worn from repeated wear season after season, so this year I will be splurging on the Torys.  Crossing my fingers that they are as awesome in-person as they are online!

Other hot pieces this year are cranberry, bluish grey, cognac, and blush pink ankle booties (dying over this pair by Rebecca Minkoff)!  My merlot ankle booties from last year are still in great condition, so I’m in the market for a pair of cognac ankle booties.

Over the knee boots are back for another season, and I couldn’t be happier!  I purchased this gorgeous cranberry pair last year, and this year I’m looking at a classic black pair with a low heel.  These would look super chic paired with a ruffle dress and clutch for date night!

Handbags & Scarves

Last but certainly not least, the handbags and scarves.  No room in my closet for either, but if I could, I would look at purchasing another Tory Burch, either in the satchel style or tote.  A great budget-friendly option would be this cute burgundy tote from Sole Society!

Crossbody bags are another one of my favorites trends for fall, and this cognac crossbody bag would pair well with just about anything!

Blanket scarves, oh blanket scarves, you are my cryptonite.  I have twenty-seven, yes, 2-7 blanket scarves….maybe if I can sell or donate half of them, I can justify this pretty multi-grid scarf :D.

Have you had a chance to take a peak at the sale?

What items, if any, are you looking to stock up on?

PS:  Don’t forget to check out the giveaway for a chance to win a $1000 Nordstrom gift card!
