Putting a Bow on Tweed Skirts and Colored Tights

Happy Weekend, lovelies!
Remember when I said a few days ago that I had two confessions to make?  Well, today I am really coming clean with you ladies!  That leather jacket wasn’t the only purchase I made this month… :(|  You probably recognize this skirt from my wishlist I posted a couple of weeks ago, and know that this was at the top of my wishlist for when No Shop September would end.  Welllll, with good reason (AGAIN), I did not wait.

You remember my beloved mint shorts, right?  Ever wonder why they suddenly disappeared and never returned?  No?  That’s ok.  Anyways, the reason why they disappeared is because the buckle above the zipper broke.  Waahwaaaah.

So I took them in to J.Crew to see if they could either fix them or replace them.  Long story short, and some amazing customer service later, I was given a gift card to repurchase the shorts once they came out again in January.

Woohoo, I was so happy!

But then I realized that I had more of a need for fall work wear, and I had to decide:  I was definitely going with the skirt!  I have been obsessing over trying to find a tweed skirt, and this one happened to be 40% off at the Factory store!  My gift card was just enough to cover the cost of the skirt, so I only paid tax and shipping costs.  Score one for Whitley!

I have not worn this glittery bow headband since last Christmas.  To be honest, I was a little hesitant of wearing it again because I’m on the fence about whether I am too old or not to be wearing sparkly gold bow headgear.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOOOOVE headbands, and glitter, and bows, and when all three are combined in harmony, the preppy angels sing (and the little 4-year old in me dances), but I am in my mid twenties and wondering if it’s time for me to retire the headbands.  What age do you think is too old?Let me just say before closing that when colored tights come out, the Four Pillars of Fall are complete:  Boots, Sweaters, Tights, and Scarves.  The circle is now complete, and I can fully embrace autumn weather :D.  Oh, and I can start displaying my rather extensive collection of colored tights…that do not currently fit in their present home…guess I just discovered what my task for the weekend will be (and maybe making a list of the colors I need would like to add to my collection)!  You think I have a plaid addiction??  Haha, just wait, this collection has been a work in progress!So lovelies, I am sorry that I broke No Shop September, but I promise that these two purchases were the only ones, and of somewhat necessity.  This girl is still going strong, and plans to go strong through the rest of this month.  Aaaaand, probably the next.  That’s ok, NYC will keep me motivated! 😀At what age do you think is too old for headbands (this one, in particular)?
