So you know how you make plans and do everything in your power to stick with them, including telling everyone about your plans in hopes that it will help you follow through–And you know how life always seems to throw a wrench into your plans?

Stepping away from blogging unexpectedly (again) is just a small indicator of how my life has been turned upside down over the last several months.  Not just little things, but very real, difficult, life-changing things that I promise to share very soon.  It’s been a very long time coming, and even now I am struggling with how to pay appropriate attention to each one without oversharing, or make it seem like I’m begging for attention.

I also don’t enjoy being vague because it also seems like I’m begging for attention…Right now, it just isn’t possible to share about what has happened over the last several months in such a short post–But I do plan on sharing in the near future.  Just know that I will probably be going and coming, sometimes regularly posting, and sometimes with unplanned absences.  But I have NOT quit blogging, nor do I intend to.  It truly is something I enjoy, and I plan on sticking with it!

Tunic Leather Leggings So I finally purchased a pair of faux leather leggings a couple months ago, and I have not looked back since!  For the last two years I’ve looked for a pair, but was always met with a high price tag, or they had a wear way of fitting me (too baggy in the knees, too tight in the waist, too long, etc.).  And then Nordstrom had a pair drastically marked down during Black Friday, and I nabbed them.  They are AH-mazing!!  Super comfy, and WARM (I wore them about town during an all-day shopping excursion in Germany), and they are super great quality!  I’ve worn them to work (music teacher), and surprisingly, they are very versatile as a work piece!  And since leggings tend to be my pant of choice in the winter months (hello comfort!), I wanted to up my leggings game with something a little dressier.  Pair them with wedges, tall boots, or heels, and you’ve got yourself a pretty versatile pair of pants!  The real pockets on the back help them look more like pants and less like a pair of leggings, making them more work appropriate.  FYI, they do run small, so size up one size from your normal pant size.

And let’s not forget about this cozy tunic sweater!  Winter tends to be looong in the Bluegrass, and most days I prefer comfort to trendy.  However, chic yet cozy sweaters are in abundance right now, and I’ve been stocking up like crazy!

I always need the reminder that if I love what I do, then I should keep doing it, no matter what.  It’s hard not to worry about what other people think.

Will you think I’m stupid for trying to blog here and there?
Does it look silly that I’m trying to teach and write a blog at the same time?
What if my coworkers found out I write a fashion blog on the side, will they think I’m shallow?

If there’s one resolution I would commit to this year (January 30th, better late than never!), it’s to STOP WORRYING about what other people think.  MAJOR. major.  Humongous flaw of mine.  I get so consumed with worry about what other people think, that I keep myself from trying new things, or continuing with something but still plagued by doubt.  Not exactly a great way to live, always worried and filled with self-doubt!

I am so thankful for a husband who continually supports me, and encourages me to not worry about what other people think.  I am very blessed to be surrounded by friends and family who support me in the same way.

So here we go, 2016, no more allowing people’s opinions to plague me with self-doubt.  And yes, I am posting this here, in hopes that it will help me follow through.  🙂
