Turbo Charged Sweater & Leggings

Sweater: Forever 21, men’s section (similar) // Shirt: J.Crew Factory // Vest: Old Navy (similar)
Leggings: Forever 21 (similar)// Boot Socks: Target // Boots: Amazon (exact)
Necklace: Capwell & Co, c/o via LuckyFabb // Lip color: Dubonet by MAC

I cannot believe how in the past few days, the leaves have really changed colors and began falling to the ground! I have started seeing a bare tree here and there, and I can’t help but feel a little tinge of sadness that fall has once again, hurried upon us and is already making her exit. It was so cold this morning that my nose actually started turning pink while we were taking pictures! In the winter time, it seems like I am have a perpetual Rudolf nose, and it doesn’t take a very long time outside for it to appear. One of the things I look forward to it becoming colder is that I can layer to my heart’s content and feel comfortable all day long! Variations on this outfit were literally my weekend uniform last fall and winter. Seriously, there is nothing more easy and comfortable than throwing on an over-sized sweater with leggings, boot socks, and boots. If it’s really cold outside, I might throw on a chunky scarf and perhaps even double up on the leggings. To give my go-to outfit a bit of pizzazz, I layered my favorite plaid button down underneath, added my quilted vest, and decided on a little sparkle rather than a scarf. I must say, I am rather in love with this gorgeous necklace from Capwell & Co.! When I was putting this outfit together, I literally had a special moment when I discovered that the plaid, leggings, necklace, AND earrings were all so close in color. It was an unintended perfection that made me do a happy dance (I’m a dork, I know!). It’s the little things in life.

So lovelies, if you are caught in a sweater with leggings slump, change it up a bit by wearing a colorful button down underneath for a pop of color! Or, try colored leggings instead of the usual black. It is SO easy to take a basic outfit and give it a little turbo charge, and you can most likely utilize what you already have in your closet!Try it out, and let me know what you think!What is your go-to fall/winter outfit?How do you feel about colored leggings?

I'm a sucker for colored leggings & tights! The past few years I've really come around to wearing more color, and I love carrying that theme into the fall & winter – a time when most people stick to classics like navy, brown & black! I don't know what it is, I just absolutely love pairing an emerald colored skirt with pretty navy tights, or purple tights with brown booties! Love this outfit though. That necklace is gorgeous!

Fall really is much too short I'm not really ready for the heavy winter layers yet haha. And i LOVE your lipstick- it totally made your outfit!

I love, love colored leggings and tights! But I do have a question. I did a post on patterned leggings this week and got some response that made me think I may be too old to wear them. Do you think there is an age cut off for leggings, or, if worn appropriately, can we all enjoy them? I love that sweater!! Always perfect Whit! Susan
